Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will I need?

This depends heavily on a few factors: your baseline level of health, how long you've had the issue, and the severity of the issue.  If you are relatively healthy, and have a mild muscle spasm that randomly popped up last week, chances are you should be back to normal within one or two treatments.  If your health isn't the greatest, and you've had chronic back pain for the last twenty years, we'll need to look at creating a more comprehensive treatment schedule.  With chronic issues, the body has set up a negative pattern of tension/inflammation/imbalance, and it needs to be retrained as to what is a healthy standard.  For these types of cases, I recommend setting up a series of 5-6 weekly treatments and then re-evaluating.  Usually within this amount of time, you will be able to see some positive momentum: fewer symptoms, less intensity of the symptoms present, or symptom-free for longer periods after each treatment.  Each of these means you are on the right track.  Once you can go the entire week without much issue, we can begin to space the treatments out.  The ultimate goal is to have you to a point where you will only need to come in for occasional "tune-ups".  And armed with your self-care exercises, you should be able to keep the regular maintenance up on your own.
